Fine Jewellery
This collection sold at auction in 2018 includes:
A late Victorian diamond rivière necklace below. The graduated cushion-shaped diamonds are set in silver and gold cut-down collets. The nine principal diamonds weighed approximately 19.40cts total, the seven centre principal diamonds detached individually with separate fittings, 52cm long, fitted case by Collingwood.
Sold £70,000
The second piece is an Edwardian emerald and diamond necklace, converting to a tiara. The three principal rectangular-shaped emeralds are each millegrain-set within a surround of small circular-cut diamonds, in platinum and yellow gold, within open-work Art Nouveau-inspired mounts set with graduated circular-cut diamonds and separated with smaller emerald and diamond drops.
Sold £45,000
The third piece sold is a Victorian diamond tiara. The centre section is set with a pear-shaped diamond within a foliate scroll design set overall with graduated cushion and pear-shaped diamonds and supported by two cushion-shaped diamond clusters, on each side a conforming section set overall with graduated cushion-shaped diamonds, mounted in silver and gold cut-down collets. The centre section detaches into the pair of diamond clusters, the section above and the two side sections also detach to be worn as assorted brooches, a pendant and two hair ornaments, 15.5cm wide and mounted on a fabric-bound frame, fitted case by Dobson, with inner compartment containing a diamond-set pendant loop, two brooch and two aigrette fittings.
